The Diamond Casino Heist is one of the most iconic and replayable jobs in GTA Online. With heists back in the spotlight, here’s the complete guide: unlocking the job through an arcade, choosing between the three approaches, understanding the vault contents, and going for the max payout.
The most cinematic heist in GTA Online
Released on December 12, 2019, the Diamond Casino Heist was billed by Rockstar as “the biggest and most complex criminal operation ever mounted in Los Santos.” The plot boils down to revenge: Georgina Cheng, of the Cheng family, wants to hit the Duggans, the oil tycoons who’ve seized control of the casino. To empty the Diamond’s vault, she brings in Lester Crest, the mastermind well known to GTA’s heist crews.
The big twist with this heist: its finale is played with 2, 3, or 4 players, never solo. It’s the opposite of the Cayo Perico Heist, which you can run solo, released a year later. Here, coordination is part of the challenge, and that’s exactly what made this job a staple of sessions with friends.
Step 1: the arcade, your way in
It all starts with a phone call from Lester, who sets up a meeting in Mirror Park. To go any further, you need a front: an arcade, bought through the Maze Bank Foreclosures app on your in-game phone.
The cheapest is Pixel Pete’s in Paleto Bay, at GTA$1,235,000. The priciest, Eight-Bit in Vinewood, climbs to GTA$2,530,000, but the location has no effect on how the heist plays out: grab the cheapest one if you’re just starting out. Step 2: scoping and prep
Once you own the arcade, head to the back room and the planning board. The job breaks down into three stages.
First, the scope-out: with your phone in hand, you walk through the casino as a visitor to photograph the access points (staff doors, ducts, roof, parking garage), the points of interest (outfits, tools, plans), and above all to scan the vault contents, which determine your payout. Every scoped detail opens up options on the day of the job.
Next come the prep missions: stealing the approach vehicles and gear, disabling security, grabbing outfits. How many there are depends on the approach you choose. Finally, you assemble your support crew: a hacker, a gunman, and a driver, each available in several tiers. A better hacker like Avi Schwartzman buys you more time in the vault, in exchange for a bigger cut. It’s a classic trade-off: pay more to grab more.
The three approaches: Silent & Sneaky, The Big Con, Aggressive
This is the heart of the prep: the heist offers three ways in, to be chosen before the finale.

The Big Con is the safest choice for a standard crew: you go through the door dressed as a Bugstars exterminator, a maintenance worker, or a VIP guest, without firing a shot as long as the cover holds. Silent & Sneaky aims for the perfect run, without a single bullet or a single tripped camera, but it demands the most prep and the coolest head. Aggressive goes in by force: quick to set up, but every bullet you take during the getaway chips away at your final cut.
How much the Diamond Casino Heist pays
The payout depends first on the vault contents, drawn at random each run and revealed during the scope-out. There are four loot types, in ascending value. Here’s the theoretical max payout on hard mode, before cuts.

Cash is the most common and the least rewarding, diamonds the rarest and the most lucrative. Heads up: diamonds only appear during dedicated event weeks. Outside those windows, gold is the best day-to-day target.
From that total, several fees come off the top. Lester takes 5%, the support crew (hacker, gunman, driver) takes its cut, the damage you take eats further into the haul (around GTA$2,000 per bullet), and the rest is split between the 2 to 4 players. A clean run is still very profitable, but the gap between a polished crew and one that gets lit up is enormous.
Maximizing your payout
Three habits make the difference over the long haul. Target the right vault first: favor gold day-to-day, and chain runs during diamond weeks whenever they land. Minimize damage next, which penalizes the Aggressive approach and rewards The Big Con or Silent & Sneaky. Switch to hard mode last, for that 10% bonus that unlocks on the third run of an approach you’ve already completed.
